"Wynonna Earp" is a Canadian-American supernatural Western horror television series that premiered on Syfy in the United States on April 1, 2016. The show is based on the comic book series of the same name created by Beau Smith. Developed by Emily Andras, the series follows Wynonna Earp, the great-great-granddaughter of the legendary lawman Wyatt Earp.
The premise revolves around Wynonna returning to her hometown of Purgatory, where she discovers that she is the heir to Wyatt Earp's curse. This curse means that she must kill revenants (resurrected outlaws that Wyatt Earp killed) using Wyatt's famous gun, Peacemaker, in order to send them back to hell.
As Wynonna battles the supernatural forces and tries to break the Earp curse, she is joined by her sister Waverly Earp, the mysterious Doc Holliday, and Agent Xavier Dolls from the Black Badge Division. The series blends elements of Western, horror, and fantasy, and it gained a dedicated fanbase for its unique mix of genres, humor, and strong female lead.
