 Home Alone 2: Lost in New York is a 1992 American comedy film directed by Chris Columbus and written by John Hughes. It is the second installment in the Home Alone series and stars Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister, who once again finds himself left behind by his family during the Christmas holidays.



In this film, Kevin accidentally boards a plane to New York City while his family heads to Florida. He decides to make the most of his time alone and checks into a luxurious hotel with his father's credit card. Meanwhile, the "Wet Bandits" from the first film, Harry and Marv, have escaped from prison and are planning to rob a toy store on Christmas Eve.


Kevin encounters them and devises a series of traps and pranks to foil their plans, including electrocuting Marv, setting Harry's head on fire, and dropping a paint can on their faces. The film explores Kevin's adventures in the city as he visits iconic landmarks, befriends a bird lady in Central Park, and encounters the philanthropist E.F. Duncan.
