“Manayek” is an Israeli television police procedural series. The first season was released in 2020 and the second season in 2022, each comprising 10 episodes. The series was broadcast on Israel’s public broadcaster, Kan 11.
The plot revolves around Izzy Bachar, a police internal affairs investigator, who discovers just before retirement that his long-time friend Barak, a senior police officer, is accused of being corrupt. This revelation shatters Izzy’s life as he knows it.
The series was created by Roy Iddan and Yoav Gross, and directed by Alon Zingman. The word “manayek” is a slang term in Hebrew for the police (or alternatively snitch), translated in the series as “Rats”.
