"District 13: Ultimatum" (original title: "Banlieue 13 - Ultimatum") is a 2009 French action film and the sequel to "District B13" (2004). Like its predecessor, it is directed by Patrick Alessandrin, but Luc Besson returned as the writer and producer. The film brings back the parkour action and high-stakes scenarios set in the dystopian Parisian suburb, District B13.
The story takes place a few years after the events of the first film. The district is still characterized by crime and social unrest, and the government plans to destroy it completely. When a plot to frame the District for a crime it didn't commit is uncovered, Damien Tomaso (Cyril Raffaelli) and Leïto (David Belle) team up once again to prevent the impending destruction and expose the corruption within the government.
"District 13: Ultimatum" maintains the parkour-centric action that made the first film popular. It received mixed reviews, with praise for its thrilling action sequences and criticism for its plot predictability. Fans of the original film and enthusiasts of high-energy action scenes, especially those involving parkour, may find "District 13: Ultimatum" an entertaining continuation of the story.
