"Journey to the Center of the Earth" is a 2008 science fiction adventure film directed by Eric Brevig. It is loosely based on the 1864 science fiction novel of the same name by Jules Verne. The film is known for its use of 3D technology and is one of the early feature films to popularize modern 3D cinema.
The story follows a scientist named Trevor Anderson, played by Brendan Fraser, who, along with his nephew Sean (Josh Hutcherson) and their guide Hannah Ásgeirsson (Anita Briem), embarks on a journey to find Trevor's missing brother. During their expedition, they discover a hidden underground world filled with prehistoric creatures and other wonders.
"Journey to the Center of the Earth" received generally positive reviews for its entertaining and family-friendly adventure, as well as its effective use of 3D technology. While it takes liberties with the source material, the film was successful at the box office and contributed to the resurgence of 3D filmmaking in the late 2000s.
