"The Legend of Zorro" is a 2005 American swashbuckler film directed by Martin Campbell and is the sequel to the 1998 film "The Mask of Zorro." Like its predecessor, the film features Antonio Banderas as Zorro and Catherine Zeta-Jones as Elena de la Vega.
Set in 1850, approximately ten years after the events of the first film, "The Legend of Zorro" follows Alejandro Murrieta (Zorro) and his wife Elena as they struggle with the demands of married life and parenthood. However, their tranquility is disrupted when a new threat emerges, and Zorro must come out of retirement to confront a conspiracy that could jeopardize California's bid for statehood.
While "The Legend of Zorro" retained some of the swashbuckling action and humor of its predecessor, it received mixed reviews from critics.
