"Diamonds Are Forever" is a 1971 British spy film directed by Guy Hamilton and produced by Albert R. Broccoli and Harry Saltzman. It is the seventh installment in the James Bond film series and the sixth to star Sean Connery as British Secret Service agent James Bond, also known by his code number 007.

In "Diamonds Are Forever," James Bond is tasked with investigating the smuggling of diamonds from Africa to Las Vegas by the sinister Ernst Stavro Blofeld (played by Charles Gray), who is using the diamonds to build a powerful laser weapon. As Bond delves deeper into the plot, he encounters a variety of colorful characters, including the glamorous diamond smuggler Tiffany Case (played by Jill St. John) and the eccentric billionaire Willard Whyte (also played by Charles Gray).

As Bond races against time to stop Blofeld's nefarious plans, he finds himself embroiled in a series of dangerous encounters and thrilling action sequences, culminating in a showdown at a secret base hidden inside an oil rig off the coast of California.

"Diamonds Are Forever" received mixed reviews from critics upon its release, with praise for its action scenes and Sean Connery's performance, but criticism for its plot and tone. Despite mixed reviews, the film was a commercial success, grossing over $116 million worldwide. It marked Sean Connery's final appearance as James Bond in the official Eon Productions series until his return in "Never Say Never Again" in 1983.
