"Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters" is a 2013 fantasy adventure film directed by Thor Freudenthal. It is the second installment in the "Percy Jackson & the Olympians" film series, following "The Lightning Thief" (2010), and is based on the novel "The Sea of Monsters" by Rick Riordan.
In this film, Percy Jackson (played by Logan Lerman) and his friends embark on a quest to the Sea of Monsters (also known as the Bermuda Triangle) to retrieve the Golden Fleece, which has the power to save their training ground, Camp Half-Blood, from the clutches of evil forces. Along the way, they encounter mythical creatures and face various challenges.
Similar to its predecessor, "Sea of Monsters" received mixed reviews from critics. Some appreciated the film's visual effects and adventure elements, while others felt it didn't capture the essence of the source material as effectively. While the film continued to have a fanbase, plans for further adaptations of the Percy Jackson series were not pursued, and the rights to the book series were eventually acquired for a television adaptation.
