The plot follows Lara Jean Covey, who is officially dating Peter Kavinsky. However, complications arise when an old crush, John Ambrose McClaren, reenters her life. Lara Jean grapples with her feelings while navigating her relationship with Peter and her insecurities related to his ex-girlfriend, Gen. The film was exclusively released on Netflix on February 12, 2020. A third film titled “To All the Boys: Always and Forever”, also directed by Fimognari, was released on February 12, 20211.
