Supacell is a new British superhero drama series created by Rapman for Netflix. The six-episode first season is set to premiere on June 27, 2024.
The series follows a group of five ordinary Black people from South London who unexpectedly develop superpowers. When one of them, Michael Lasaki (Tosin Cole), has a vision of his girlfriend dying, he must bring the others together to save her life. However, they soon realize powerful and nefarious forces have taken notice of their abilities.

The series aims to put a fresh spin on the superhero genre by focusing on the impact of superpowers on regular people's lives. Rapman has said he hopes to avoid superhero fatigue by telling a character-driven story about the characters trying to save themselves and their loved ones.
Supacell is Netflix's latest high-profile British original series, following the success of shows like The Crown, Sex Education and Top Boy. The streaming service is betting big on the show, which has been in development for over five years, to attract viewers in the UK and globally.
