"Saw III" is a 2006 American horror film directed by Darren Lynn Bousman and written by Leigh Whannell and James Wan. It is the third installment in the "Saw" film series and continues the story of the Jigsaw Killer, also known as John Kramer, and his gruesome games of survival.
In "Saw III," the Jigsaw Killer's legacy continues as his apprentice, Amanda Young (played by Shawnee Smith), carries out his twisted games after his death. Meanwhile, a new victim named Jeff (played by Angus Macfadyen) finds himself at the center of one of Jigsaw's deadly traps. As the game unfolds, Detective Eric Matthews (played by Donnie Wahlberg), who survived the events of "Saw II," finds himself drawn back into Jigsaw's world as he races against time to save Jeff and stop Amanda's deadly games.
"Saw III" received mixed reviews from critics, with praise for its inventive traps and gruesome imagery, as well as Tobin Bell's performance as Jigsaw. However, some critics found fault with the film's plot and pacing. Despite mixed reviews, "Saw III" was a commercial success, grossing over $164 million worldwide.
