It premiered on May 18, 2023, and is a spin-off of the To All the Boys film series, which itself is an adaptation of Han’s book trilogy “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before”. Notably, it marks the first Netflix television series to be spun off from a Netflix original film. Jenny Han serves as the writer, executive producer, and showrunner.
The series follows the journey of Kitty Song Covey, a high school student who embarks on her own quest to find true love. Kitty is in a long-distance relationship with her boyfriend Dae, who lives in South Korea. When she receives a full scholarship offer at the Korean Independent School of Seoul (KISS), where her mom once studied, she seizes the opportunity to reunite with Dae. However, her arrival in Seoul takes an unexpected turn as she navigates public transit, meets new people, and discovers connections that intertwine her past and present.
Recurring characters include Director Ji-na Lim, Professor Daniel Lee, Madison Miller, and others. Notable guest appearances include John Corbett as Dan Covey and Sarayu Blue as Trina. The series has received positive reviews from critics, and in June 2023, it was renewed for a second season
