Moana 2 is a 2024 American animated musical adventure film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios.
The movie reunites Moana and Maui three years after the events of the first film. Moana, now a leader, receives a message from her ancestors, which leads her to journey in search of answers and reconnect her people with their maritime heritage. Maui joins her on this mission, where they face new villains.
Originally developed as a miniseries for Disney+, it was reworked into a theatrical sequel. Mark Mancina and Opetaia Foaʻi returned to score and write the songs, while Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear replaced Lin-Manuel Miranda as additional songwriters.
