The Order is a 2024 American crime thriller film directed by Justin Kurzel,
starring Jude Law and Nicholas Hoult. Set in 1983, the film follows FBI agent Terry Husk (Law) as he reopens a field office in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, seeking a less demanding assignment. However, Husk's plans for a quieter life are quickly disrupted as he finds himself investigating a string of violent crimes, including bank robberies and armored car heists.
As Husk delves deeper into the investigation, he discovers that the crimes are connected to a white supremacist group known as The Order, led by Bob Mathews (Hoult). Inspired by the white supremacist novel The Turner Diaries, The Order aims to ignite a race war through a campaign of bombings and assassinations. Husk, along with Deputy Jamie Bowen, must race against time to stop Mathews and his followers before their violence escalates further, leading to a climactic confrontation. The film explores themes of white supremacy, domestic terrorism, and the enduring presence of hate groups in America. The cast also includes Tye Sheridan, Jurnee Smollett, Alison Oliver, Marc Maron, and Odessa Young.
