Rat Race (2001) is an ensemble comedy film directed by Jerry Zucker and written by Andy Breckman. Heavily inspired by Stanley Kramer's 1963 classic It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, the film follows six teams of ordinary people who are chosen at random by an eccentric Las Vegas casino tycoon to race 563 miles across the desert to retrieve a duffel bag filled with $2 million from a train station locker in Silver City, New Mexico.
